Copy That is located in the historic Ellis School in Ashland. Print and copy services have been available here for over 30 years, though we do so much more: graphic design, branding, and marketing.
We care about you.
We work with individuals and businesses who enjoy our professional-yet-friendly small-town approach to customer service, our attention to detail, and our competitive pricing. We reach customers from other parts of the region too, delivering work to them through a regional shipper.
We care about how you look, as a professional.
We have a robust practice designing everything from wedding invitations to books, brochures to logos, and business cards to banners. Our design specialties are in photo manipulation, signs, and any project which requires creativity and loving care.
We care about your brand.
We bring our expertise with branding and marketing to all of our work with commercial, governmental, and nonprofit clients. Even if we are putting together a post card we are thinking about and refining a customer’s brand.
We care about our community.
We are connected with the neighbors, organizations, congregations, and agencies we serve. We financially and logistically support causes and organizations in our local area. We love the community and this place.
Will is living his dream. He always wanted to run a print shop. He longed to do more graphic design. And he loved thinking about brands. At Copy That he gets to do all three.
Will graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1980 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. It was a self-designed major in organization development. That led to a 27-year career in organization development, particularly with community nonprofits. His specialties were strategic planning, board development, program evaluation, conflict resolution, and organizational communication.
In 2012 and 2013, Will and his partner Mark, built Big Flavor Foods into a successful business. It was a deep dive into branding and customer service. Unfortunately, the business was forced to close due to health concerns. However, the strong currents of branding and customer service swept him into the dreamscape known as Copy That.

Mark began his graphic design career in 2016. He has been the lead designer on many Copy That projects, mostly efforts with local businesses working to develop their identity and enhance their local market positions.
Mark worked in the medical device field from the early 1990’s to 2011. He provided specialized customer service and managed inventories for surgical devices, products, and nuclear medicine options for a national sales and marketing team.
That extensive experience prepared Mark for detail-oriented approaches to broad-based projects, such as Big Flavor Foods. In 2012 and 2013, he and Will, developed Big Flavors' great recipes and products. Perhaps the best recipe was Big Flavor's colorful and engaging branding.
Mark loves working on old images, new logos, and ongoing projects.

Lucas moved to northern Wisconsin in 2017, and studied Sustainable Community Development at Northland College. He has worked in many administrative and marketing positions over the years, including a 12-year stint as co-organizer for RoSfest, a three-day international music festival near Philadelphia. Running the festival meant wearing many hats, including public relations, website maintenance, social media, print marketing, and event planning. More recently, he worked at the Madeline Island Museum during the summer of 2018, and fell in love with sharing the history of this area.
Lucas is self-professed library nerd, which makes him well-qualified to be a researcher on Copy That's largest project: branding for Midwest-grown hazelnuts. He also handles billing, social media, and many administrative details for the business.
